Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality education to students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Provide specialized academic instruction, behavior intervention services, and other special education services as assigned
  • Collaborate with general education colleagues to accommodate, differentiate, and modify student learning and materials
  • Collect and analyze data regularly to monitor student progress towards IEP goals
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and other key stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships and implementation of students' IEPs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Valid teaching credential in the desired subject or eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit
  • Commitment to KIPP's mission and vision
  • Commitment to being an anti-racist educator
  • Strong content area knowledge and skills in special education
  • Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics to our KIPP Public Schools Northern California student community
  • Knowledge of Google Suite applications and instructional technology
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located at our school sites. The successful candidate will be able to navigate school and classroom settings, access and utilize technology, and perform physical tasks as required.

Classification

This position is classified as a Special Education Teacher and is subject to the physical, mental, and environmental demands of the job.
