Accounts Payable Specialist

Loch Harbour Group Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst to contribute to the success of various financial operations in a government contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process incoming vendor invoices and expense reports for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Payments: Prepare and process payments in accordance with terms, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, respond to inquiries, and resolve any billing issues or payment discrepancies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate financial records, including filing and tracking payments, ensuring proper documentation for audits.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable federal regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the accounts payable process and recommend improvements for increased efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and reporting.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations regarding accounts payable transactions.
- Experience: More than 3 years of accounts payable, preferably in a government contracting environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software such as Deltek Costpoint is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve discrepancies and respond effectively to vendor and internal queries.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
