Job Summary

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company with a strong commitment to food safety and quality. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented FSQA Technician to join our team.

The FSQA Technician will be responsible for conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing, and documentation to meet Aspire Bakeries' Integrated Management System Program (AIMS) requirements. This role will also involve verifying all applicable company expectations, ensuring that our foods meet company standards and specifications, and identifying non-conforming raw materials, semi-finished, and finished foods.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety and quality objectives, as well as experience with SAP and a basic understanding of 21 CFR 117 Subpart B Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Prerequisite and Preventive Control Programs, and Critical Control Points (HACCP).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct food safety and quality sampling, testing, and documentation to meet AIMS requirements
  • Verify all applicable company expectations
  • Ensure that our foods meet company standards and specifications
  • Identify non-conforming raw materials, semi-finished, and finished foods
  • Report food safety and quality non-conformances and deviations to FSQA Manager
  • Support the Hazard Analysis & Risk-Based Preventive Controls Food Safety Team in the participation of an effective Food Safety plan focused on the elimination of biological, chemical, physical, and economically motivated hazards from our foods
  • Conduct sensory, physical, and packaging evaluations on finished food and report the results to bakery management
  • Basic understanding and verification of the bakeries QAP

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma. Some college science courses or experience in the food industry
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience with SAP
