Patient Accounts Coordinator – Full Time Remote

The Mindful Lemon, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Patient Accounts Coordinator who is eager to contribute to our expanding group practice.

Key Responsibilities:

The Patient Accounts Coordinator will report to the Billing Supervisor and Operations Manager, managing all aspects of revenue cycle operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Submitting claims electronically via TheraNest within one business day of service
  • Collecting patient payments promptly within one business day of service
  • Reconciling bank payments and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) and posting to client accounts within two business days of receipt
  • Managing EFT follow-ups with payors as needed for any discrepancies
  • Conducting weekly reviews and follow-ups on overdue patient invoices
  • Monitoring insurance payments over 30 days past due and coordinating with collections as necessary
  • Following up on denied claims, making edits, and resubmitting as required
  • Performing monthly eligibility checks for clients and updating their records accordingly
  • Documenting and communicating any changes in copays or patient responsibilities
  • Submitting claims to secondary insurance when applicable
  • Addressing patient inquiries regarding account details
  • Reconciling patient accounts
  • Confirming benefits with insurers and adjusting patient records based on actual claim payments
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience in Revenue Cycle Management

At least one year of experience in Behavioral Health Billing

Familiarity with TheraNest EHR is advantageous.

Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Ability to work independently is essential.
