Role Summary

The Youth Program Support Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and assisting children during after-school activities, ensuring a supportive and educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the supervision of children participating in the after-school program.
  2. Provide assistance to children with their reading and homework tasks.
  3. Help implement the established daily schedule effectively.
  4. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all participants.
  5. Ensure that facilities, materials, and equipment used in the program are kept clean and in good condition.
  6. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  7. Assist in the preparation of necessary reports.
  8. Promote the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Must be able to engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain effective communication through various technologies is required.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum age of 16 years.
  2. 1-2 years of experience in a dynamic childcare setting, such as a Youth Group Leader or Camp Counselor.
  3. Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position.
  4. Must pass a background check and complete required training.
