About the Position

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Highway/Roadway Project Manager to join our growing New England Transportation group.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing transportation engineering projects covering roadways, bikeways, and utility design. Your duties will include overseeing traffic engineering, stormwater management, drainage, temporary traffic control, traffic signals, construction observation, cost estimating, and construction administration.

Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context-driven, and integrated project delivery mindset. We work with local municipalities, MassDOT, DCR, and other state public transportation agencies, as well as private partners who support the development of the places we live, work, recreate, and learn.

Responsibilities
  • Managing large multi-disciplinary highway reconstruction projects, both traditional bid-build and alternate delivery (Design-Build, PPP, etc.)
  • Working with Contractors for the delivery of Design-Build projects
  • Training and mentoring junior staff in various aspects of highway design
  • Assisting with the production and delivery of transportation projects through the construction administration phase
  • Pre-design project planning and financial management
  • Design of highways and roads, including the development of geometric layout, grading, and drainage, working with utilities, and environmental permitting
  • Development of technical design and specification documents
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering required
  • 11+ years of roadway experience, with at least 5+ years of experience managing highway design projects
  • Current PE in Massachusetts or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Massachusetts PE license within six months
