Lead Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Safety Engineer to join our team at Perellion. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our employees and customers throughout our projects.

About the Role

The Lead Safety Engineer will have both internal and external facing functions, including involvement with designs from the proposal phase through delivery. This includes supporting estimating with budgets for safety systems; safety design, layout, and documentation; testing of safety devices; and delivery of systems to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and comprehend applicable safety standards
  • Reliably identify all potential safety risks and help project team find adequate, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to reduce safety risks over the course of the entire project life cycle
  • Write and maintain risk assessments
  • Design, install, and test safety devices such as interlocks, light curtains, and laser scanners that comply with safety standards
  • Use SRP/CS MMTF numbers to properly determine Performance Level of the designed product
  • Write site installation plans that meet all safety standards, codes, customer requirements, and regulations for the installation site
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-year professional experience in industrial safety
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Functional knowledge in electrical and controls with respect to industrial safety
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work independently in an environment that emphasizes individual ownership and responsibility
