Job Title: Psych Tech

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psych Tech to join our team at Intermountain Hospital. As a Psych Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients.

Intermountain Hospital is a 151-bed facility located in Boise, Idaho, providing quality psychiatric and chemical dependency services to the Treasure Valley and western US since 1980. Our mission is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate mental health and substance use treatment.

Job Summary

The Psych Tech will assist with planning and implementing services for an assigned program, working closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to define and implement treatment goals. You will provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Program Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and implementing services for an assigned program
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to define and implement treatment goals
  • Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and Program Managers to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • CPI/seclusion/restraint training/certification
  • Knowledge of psychiatric care techniques
  • Knowledge of de-escalation and assaultive behavior management techniques
  • Thorough knowledge and training in CPR
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
