Job Description

About the Role

This is a hybrid role for Summer 2025 with 1-2 days/week in the Cary, NC office.

The Social Media Marketing Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across various social media platforms to drive engagement, support campaigns, and enhance brand visibility. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, this role involves close collaboration with the marketing team and other key stakeholders within the marketing department. The intern will be part of the Brand & Demand Generation Marketing team, working alongside brand managers, content creators, and digital strategists to execute social media initiatives that align with broader marketing objectives and the company's overall brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging content for various social media platforms (e.g., posts, stories, videos)
  • Schedule and publish social media posts using management tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement and mentions and respond to comments/messages
  • Analyze social media metrics to assess performance and report findings
  • Assist in the development of social media campaigns and strategies
  • Research industry trends and competitor activity to inform content
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media with broader marketing initiatives
  • Support in creating and editing visual content (e.g., images, videos) for posts
  • Track and organize social media content calendars
  • Engage with the online community to increase brand awareness and followers
Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn) and current digital marketing trends
  • Experience in writing, editing, and creating engaging multimedia content for social media
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to contribute fresh ideas and solutions
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Basic understanding of analytics and how to interpret social media performance data
