Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Statistician Software Development Intern to join our team at JMP Statistical Discovery, LLC. As a Research Statistician Software Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team to design, develop, and debug software as part of the JMP development team.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your research interests to conduct independent research to support development efforts.
  • Design, develop, and debug software as part of the JMP development team.
  • Collaborate with other research statisticians to develop innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a MS/PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
  • Knowledge of experimental design or reliability analysis.
  • Familiarity with topics in optimal design of experiments, Bayesian optimization, combinatorial design, graph theory, or reliability.
  • Ability to think analytically and to effectively communicate problems and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to conduct independent research, gathering information from multiple sources and communicate recommendations to the development team.
  • Ability to give specific, constructive feedback and exert positive influence.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with other testers, developers, documentation staff members as well as technical support.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using R, Python, Julia, Matlab, or C++
  • Basic to advanced programming skills
