Job Description

Lumen is seeking a seasoned Director of Category Management to lead our Procurement team in driving strategic sourcing initiatives and delivering cost savings.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute category strategies aimed at reducing total cost of ownership while mitigating risk.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of procurement professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  3. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including negotiation of contracts and agreements.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Partner with internal stakeholders, including finance and operations, to understand business strategies and roadmaps.
  5. Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier rationalization, and internal customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of procurement experience, including 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated project management and relationship management skills.
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, or similar ERP systems is a plus.
