The Metering and Relay Specialist is a seasoned technician proficient in the installation, upkeep, and testing of substation protection and control systems. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relays, metering devices, and SCADA systems. The specialist will also perform tests on substation equipment and manage the operation of various apparatus while adhering to safety protocols and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain protective relays and metering systems.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of substation equipment.
- Operate substation apparatus in compliance with safety regulations.
- Work independently or collaboratively, especially during urgent situations.
- Maintain accountability for tools, testing equipment, and company vehicles.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or a similar program.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the metering and relay sector.
- Successful completion of a pre-qualifying skills assessment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
- Commercial Motor Vehicle Medical Card (CMV) is required.
- Ability to pass a physical examination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience as a Metering and Relay Specialist.
