Pathology Assistant

The Pathology Assistant will provide critical support to the Pathologists and the Laboratory Services team in the preparation and examination of tissue specimens. This role involves assisting in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, managing laboratory workflow, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
Manage laboratory workflow to ensure efficient specimen processing
Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of specimen descriptions, measurements, and findings
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for Tumor Board committee
Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or MS from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program or in a medical or scientific field
At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination
