About the Role

The Department of Education is seeking an experienced Centre Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Early Learning Victoria team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for all aspects of operation of the centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Early Learning Victoria central office to prepare the centre for opening.
  • Provide information and support to families regarding enrolment, orientation, and general operations of the centre.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, colleagues, suppliers, and the Early Learning central team.
  • Data entry into the Child Care Management System, payroll systems, and reporting.
  • Process payments.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls, ensuring prompt and professional responses to all inquiries.
  • Monitor centre security, including at entrances and exits.
  • Perform various administrative tasks as required, including communications, team planning, and accepting deliveries.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in an administration role, with exposure to the early childhood sector preferred.
  • Experience in financial reporting and following organisational policies and procedures.
  • Confidence in using administrative software and systems, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, families, and communities.
  • Advanced organisational skills, including time management, multitasking, and prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines and support centre operations.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Qualification in business administration or related field highly regarded.
  • Cert III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher will be highly regarded.
  • Current Police and Working with Children's Checks.
