Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Clackamas, Oregon.
About the Role:We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented RN to work in our Electrophysiology Lab. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process and leadership skills to address acute and chronic needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a variety of nursing services, both in-person and by phone, to support the health and well-being of our patients.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team in delivering quality healthcare to patients, which supports Kaiser Permanente's mission, vision, and values.
- Utilize the nursing process and leadership skills to address acute and chronic needs of patients.
- Act as an advocate for individuals, groups, and communities, understanding and supporting Kaiser Permanente policies, legal considerations, and professional ethics.
- Foster and use innovative thinking to create alternative solutions, demonstrating the ability to analyze, synthesize, and utilize data to provide optimal nursing care.
- Understand and provide competent care to a diverse population, using knowledge of cultural differences to provide nursing care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
- Practice healthcare team building and leadership skills, applying leadership skills to facilitate effective team functioning and operations of the module or department.
- Direct, delegate, and monitor quality of care delivered by the healthcare team, bringing deviations to the attention of staff involved and Team Leader.
- Mentor new staff and assist with orientation and staff development needs.
- Collaborate with Team Leader and Manager in setting quality standards for nursing care and in the development of policies and procedures.
- Participate in population-based care activities, effectively identifying needs and providing prevention, early intervention, and ongoing health education for panel populations, individual patients, and families.
- Assist individuals and groups to learn self-management skills that promote and protect health, developing teaching plans for individuals and groups related to health promotion and disease prevention.
- Access, evaluate, and use data and information from a wide range of resources, demonstrating effective use of computer-based information and practice management systems for decision support, provision of care, continuous quality improvement, and professional development.
- Provide input to the development of information systems that impact the provision of patient care, facilitating the members' use of healthcare technologies.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education activities and share knowledge with other healthcare team members, demonstrating commitment to continuous learning that advances professional nursing practice.
- Provide evidence-based, clinically competent nursing care in a culturally sensitive manner, planning, implementing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating a plan of care across the care continuum.
- Facilitate member wellness and function, identifying needs for healthcare interventions, utilizing appropriate assessment tools, processes, clinical pathways, and guidelines to manage patient care.
- Perform and modify therapeutic and preventive nursing measures, administer treatments and medications as authorized by law and determined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for staff, patients, and family members, documenting the nursing care provided, which demonstrates the application of the nursing process and complies with departmental and/or organizational standards.
- Apply effective oral and written communication skills in interacting with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, recognizing the impact of systems on healthcare delivery.
- Facilitate coordination of care across all settings, with particular attention to transitional needs, functioning within interdisciplinary teams in a manner that promotes coordination, mutual respect, and timely response to patients' healthcare needs.
- Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory care/clinic setting within the last five (5) years.
- Two (2) years of experience in inpatient or outpatient cardiac unit.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
- Demonstrates clinical nursing and leadership skills, experience in acute care or critical care nursing that includes using the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication.
- Previous experience with population care/case management, triage, and advice.
- Current or future bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
