About the Job

KurzSolutions is seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team in a rural health care setting. As an Optometrist with our company, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality medical services to patients in a unique and challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional medical services or direct patient care services, specifically Optometry in an outpatient setting.
  • Diagnose and treat visual and ocular problems through external and internal physical examination of the eye and adnexa.
  • Treat unusual and/or complex visual and ocular disorders through the application of advanced optometric techniques.
  • Utilize laboratory and radiology services to evaluate ophthalmic and related systemic conditions.
  • Use all forms of topical and ophthalmic therapeutic medications, including oral therapeutic medications to manage pathology and trauma.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, including anterior segment foreign body removal, corneal debridement, and suture removal.
  • Provide emergency eye care services on an outpatient basis, including diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic trauma and pathology consistent with hospital clinical privileges.
  • Receive referrals from other health care professionals within the health center for specialty consultation and management of ocular disease and coordinate medical eye care with other physicians as appropriate.
  • Direct optometric technicians to assist in the clinical examination as appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate documentation on rendered patient care utilizing the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Consult with Service Unit Optometrists as necessary for guidance on Service Unit treatment, referral protocols and/or complex cases.
  • Assist the Chief of Optometry in other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Completed the Optometry Residency Program with a minimum of six months' experience.
  • Board-Eligible or Board-Certified with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • Maintain a valid, current, full, and unrestricted DEA license with all schedule types II through V and maintain certification.
  • Maintain a valid and current CPR and BLS certifications.
