Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dentist to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services. As a Dentist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, including evaluating, preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' dental health and develop treatment plans to address any issues or concerns.
  • Perform routine dental procedures, such as cleanings, fillings, and extractions, as well as more complex procedures like oral surgery and orthodontics.
  • Diagnose and treat gum diseases, including periodontitis and gingivitis.
  • Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions as needed.
  • Develop and implement preventive dental care programs to promote good oral health and prevent disease.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Ability to distinguish shades of color.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or health center.
  • Knowledge of dental public health principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
