Job Summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a highly qualified Supervisory Physician to serve as the Chief of Primary Care at the Pinon Health Center in Pinon, Arizona. As a key member of the Clinical Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and evaluation of primary care services, including outpatient family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, and women's health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and services.
  • Exercise overall responsibility for the management and direction of primary care services, including supervising staff and coordinating with other departments.
  • Plan and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services in your specialty, including emergency cases.
  • Document patient information and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a recognized institution and be licensed to practice medicine in the United States. You must also have at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, such as an internship or residency program.

In addition, you must demonstrate strong supervisory and managerial abilities, including the ability to motivate and train staff, plan and implement work assignments, and communicate effectively with others.

This is a supervisory position, and you must have the potential to develop and exercise the qualities of successful supervision, including the ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with subordinates.
