Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This dynamic role requires a unique blend of clinical and clerical skills, with a focus on providing top-notch patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, vital sign collection, and electronic medical records management.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and Sentara's confidentiality policies.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and stay current with industry developments.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting or as an EMT, Paramedic, or Corpsman; phlebotomy experience and electronic medical records proficiency a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
