Radiographic Testing Specialist

About Phoenix, LLC: Phoenix, LLC, a Division of SHINE Technologies, is in search of a Radiographic Testing Specialist to enhance our Radiography operations utilizing advanced Dual Energy Neutron Radiography systems and industrial X-Ray technologies at our Imaging Center. The specialist will deliver technical assistance for both new and ongoing projects involving engineering assessments, fabrication, assembly, and documentation with an emphasis on non-destructive evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct radiographic operations and maintenance utilizing radiographic film, direct reading flat panel detectors, phosphor storage imaging plates, and scanning apparatus.
  • Offer general technical support to engineering, scientific, and technical teams to strategize and execute experiments at the Imaging Center and various off-site locations.
  • Manage, maintain, assemble, and disassemble moderately complex electrical and mechanical systems, adhering to work control processes and procedural requirements.
  • Utilize knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques to resolve mechanical challenges.
  • Engage in and uphold training and qualification programs for handling radioactive materials and explosives certification.
  • Execute system upgrades, equipment testing, radiation surveys, and interlock systems evaluations.
  • Assist in the upkeep of systems documentation and experimental records.
  • Perform facility-related and technical tasks such as maintenance, testing, and enhancements to equipment.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and disassemble intricate mechanical components and systems, including planning and selecting materials, tools, and methodologies.
  • Identify, analyze, and propose solutions and alternative strategies to complex issues using independent creativity and judgment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a technical setting preferred.
  • Capability to certify and maintain certification as a Radiographic Testing (RT) Level I and Neutron Radiography (NR) Level I per the National Aerospace Standard.
  • Proficiency in operating various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn innovative technologies and concepts.
  • Familiarity with office software, including word processing and spreadsheets necessary for producing documentation and graphics.
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management, technical, engineering, and scientific personnel.
  • Experience involving radiography of munitions, explosives, and other critical components, along with the interpretation of these radiographs is preferred.
  • Ability to pass medical examinations as required for NDT personnel.
  • Ability to pass a background check and be eligible for licensure through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Additional Information:
