Role Overview: The Quality Assurance Lead will report directly to the Senior Quality Manager of the Construction Region, with additional communication to the Director of Operations. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and strategic direction for the Quality Assurance department.
The responsibilities include defining actions that align with top management's quality expectations and implementing programs to ensure our products meet the highest standards in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize departmental expertise to address persistent issues on the production floor through structured problem-solving techniques.
- Serve as the primary contact for maintaining the ISO9001 Quality System Certification.
- Assess staffing needs within the quality department and report findings to management.
- Evaluate the performance of the quality system and recommend necessary adjustments to meet management's requirements.
- Promote structured problem-solving initiatives on the production floor using data from quality audits and inspection forms.
- Mentor and guide department personnel to enhance their skills and productivity.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of diverse experience in quality systems and product manufacturing.
- A minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity, preferably within a similar industry.
- Working knowledge of ISO quality systems, with lead auditor certification preferred.
- Proficiency in 8-Step Problem Solving, team facilitation, and Lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP business systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, coupled with a positive attitude.
- A comprehensive understanding of Lean principles, with at least 3 years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
