Key ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY DUTIES
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of clients' physical and psychological conditions through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Identifies abnormalities in physical assessments and collaborates with physicians to develop treatment strategies for health concerns and follow-up care.
- Prescribes medications, orders blood tests, and initiates routine diagnostic and follow-up procedures.
- Requests consultations from physicians and other healthcare professionals to guarantee high-quality patient care.
- Analyzes and interprets results from diagnostic studies.
- Communicates relevant patient care information to the collaborating physician.
- Assesses the quality of care delivered and suggests improvements as necessary.
- Takes initiative to implement therapeutic plans that align with the ongoing healthcare needs of patients.
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure the delivery of appropriate and quality care.
- Provides management for symptoms associated with oncological treatments.
- Assists with patient admissions and ensures timely discharges.
- Works both independently and as part of a team.
- Shares clinical knowledge with both professional and support staff.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Collaborates effectively with other healthcare disciplines to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Engages in rounding with the inpatient team.
- Maintains professional certification in the specialty area and participates in educational conferences at various levels.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an APRN in the state of Kentucky.
- National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Possession of a current DEA certificate without restrictions.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
