Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Activities Director to lead our lifestyle programs, providing physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging experiences and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct lifestyle programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Develop and implement programs for holidays and special events, ensuring a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Recruit and develop additional resources to support services to residents, fostering a sense of community and connection.
  • Initiate correspondence with outside organizations, service groups, and volunteers, promoting partnerships and collaborations.
  • Advise and motivate residents on individual and group activities, encouraging personal growth and development.
  • Prepare and organize a calendar of events, submitting it to the Executive Director for final approval.
  • Develop and print the community newsletter, highlighting resident achievements and community news.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the lifestyle program team, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate the community library, ensuring access to a wide range of materials and resources.
  • Purchase and maintain equipment and supplies, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepare preliminary drafts of the Celebrations Operating Budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Organize and supervise a volunteer staff, fostering a culture of volunteerism and community engagement.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest, promoting education and awareness.
  • Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident quality assurance assessments, participation, and satisfaction, informing program development and improvement.
  • Supervise staff of Recreation and Event Coordinators, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to company standards.
  • Participate in community in-services, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Demonstrate competence in Federal, State, and Local regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies.
  • Develop, facilitate, and analyze resident surveys, informing program development and improvement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate mixed group activities, promoting socialization and community building.
  • Develop and facilitate daily displays of activities on bulletin boards and/or kiosks, ensuring visibility and awareness.
  • Maintain a robust public relations program, supporting activities programming and community relations.
  • Implement and facilitate a volunteer recognition program, acknowledging and appreciating volunteer contributions.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, or Adult Education preferred.
  • Three to five years related experience.
  • Two years supervisory/management experience.
