Job Overview

KIPP North Carolina Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our exceptional team. This role is vital in addressing the speech, language, and communication needs of students with disabilities. As a key member of the Exceptional Children Team, the Speech-Language Pathologist will deliver specially designed instruction in various settings, including whole group, small group, or one-on-one, tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Intervention and Therapy: Provide individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports. Ensure adherence to all regulations regarding speech and language services.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for students' needs within the school system and provide emotional support to foster a positive learning environment.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active North Carolina state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of KIPP NC and belief in the potential of all students.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a K-8 school setting, particularly in Title I schools.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
