Your Key Responsibilities

Instructional Preparation & Delivery

  • Thoroughly review and prepare KIPP NC’s adopted curriculum, including:
    • K - 8 Math: Zearn
    • K - 5 ELA: Bookworms
    • 6 - 8 ELA: KIPP Wheatley
    • K - 8 Science: Amplify & other materials aligned with NC Standards
  • Practice lesson delivery to ensure high-quality execution of the curriculum
  • Create exemplary responses and documents to hold students accountable
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and adjust lessons to meet student needs
  • Embrace feedback as part of the pursuit of excellence
  • Maintain accurate records and data tracking systems

  • Embody and uphold the school's values and culture

  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom that showcases student work
  • Develop positive relationships with students and families through regular communication

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to KIPP NC’s mission and belief in the potential of all students
  • A dedication to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion
  • A valid North Carolina teaching license or willingness to pursue certification
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
  • Professionalism, resilience, and a sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of teaching experience in K - 12
  • Experience in high-performing charter schools or schools with significant populations of economically disadvantaged students
  • Proven success in improving the achievement levels of marginalized students
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Additional Information

Work Hours

Hours are Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
