Job Summary

The Student Sustainability Coordinator will play a key role in supporting environmental and social sustainability initiatives at North Seattle College. This position will represent student voices on the Seattle Colleges District Sustainability Committee, host events and perform outreach on campus to engage the campus community in sustainability topics, manage the sustainability social media page for the college, and research sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent student voices on the Seattle Colleges District Sustainability Committee
  • Host events and perform outreach on campus to engage the campus community in sustainability topics
  • Manage the sustainability social media page for the college
  • Research sustainability initiatives

Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled student at North Seattle College
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per quarter throughout the 2024-25 academic year
  • Must have and maintain at least a 2.5 quarterly/cumulative GPA
  • Must be able to commit at minimum, 6-months (2 quarters)
  • An eagerness to work with and serve students of all backgrounds

Working Conditions

  • Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed
  • Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday
  • Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion
