Job Description

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our growing Northern California practice in our Oakland, CA office as part of our Buildings + Places practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various project tasks, developing technical concepts and designs, and preparing documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning, design, evaluation and review of various tasks in support of project execution.
  • Working well with others within a diverse team environment.
  • Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Working on complex or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests with the ability to solve complex issues with limited direction.
  • Proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Carrying out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Demonstrating innovation to deliver technical and operational excellence.
  • Identifying discrepancies in results.
  • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines with the ability to make autonomous decisions guided by policies, procedures and business objectives.
Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid US Drivers License required, as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
