Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to lead our Transportation Infrastructure team in the Bay Area of California. As a Supervising Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple engineering tasks, coordinating complex utility projects, and managing a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the preparation of plans and reports.
  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and grow and mentor staff.
  • Oversee technical deliverables, meet project schedules, and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Establish budgets, supervise the execution of work, and ensure tasks are delivered on-time and within budget.
  • Provide technical project updates to agency staff and support design bid build and alternative project deliver/design-build projects.

Qualifications:

  • 12 years or more of experience in civil engineering design, with experience supporting major utilities preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Caltrans projects in the State of California is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of various state standards and specifications.
  • Client contacts and relationships with local authorities having jurisdiction, resource agencies, and other local, regional, and state agencies is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
