Chief Executive Officer - Job Overview

This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and is situated in Goshen, IN.
POSITION SUMMARY
The CEO will hold overall accountability for the effectiveness and performance of The Window. This includes overseeing daily operations and shaping the future direction of the organization. The CEO will be responsible for staffing and volunteer management, ensuring that operational processes, policies, and procedures are established and maintained as per Board approval.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and enhance the organizational culture, capabilities, and overall impact.
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and key personnel to ensure the organization is well-prepared to fulfill its mission.
- Provide visionary leadership that is inclusive and empowering, aligning with the directives of the Board.
- Develop strategic options and plans for the organization’s growth and seek Board approval as necessary.
- Manage the day-to-day operations while ensuring long-term sustainability and success.
- Inspire and mentor team leaders to expand the organization’s reach, programs, and fundraising efforts.
- Utilize innovative approaches and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the development of internal policies regarding hiring, staff development, and performance management.
- Maintain accessibility to clients, staff, volunteers, and donors through regular on-site presence.
Board Governance
Foster open communication to build strong relationships with the Board of Directors. Attend all Board meetings, providing updates on staff, financials, and organizational goals.
Development and Fundraising
Lead fundraising initiatives in partnership with the Board and development team. Cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
Financial Management and Administration
Effectively manage resources and oversee financial operations within the approved budget. Ensure financial stability and sustainability through prudent resource allocation.
External Relations and Communications
Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization at public events and meetings. Promote the organization’s mission and programs, ensuring a positive public image.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years in senior leadership roles. Experience in non-profit management, fundraising, and operations is essential. Strong communication skills and a commitment to working within a faith-based context are required.
