Position Overview:
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting the Registered Nurse (RN) by delivering compassionate and family-oriented care that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
The PCA is entrusted with responsibilities that are predictable in nature, do not necessitate assessment, interpretation, or independent decision-making during execution, and do not present any risk to the patient.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role as a PCA. Certifications: Valid RI PCA certification is required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Operates in a well-lit and ventilated setting. Must fulfill annual safety training obligations pertinent to maintaining a safe workplace. Compliance with annual health-testing standards is necessary. Regular interaction with patients mandates strict adherence to universal precautions at all times. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are essential. Physical capabilities include a range of movements such as stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, stretching, and reaching. May be required to lift heavy items weighing 25 pounds or more.
