Patient Care Assistant

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients. This position requires a high level of observation and reporting skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Observe patients' activities and report any abnormal behavior or changes in mental status to a supervisor.
- Provide social interaction with patients through conversation and other means.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and caring patient environment.
- Respect patients' rights and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures regarding patient and staff safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to converse and socialize with patients.
- Ability to follow instructions and observe safety precautions.
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and working in a normal patient care environment. The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases, but the risk is minimized by adhering to established infection control procedures.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibility.
