Debt Recovery Specialist

As a Collections Counselor at America's First, you will play a critical role in preserving the credit union's assets by effectively managing delinquent loan accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to contact delinquent/overdrawn accounts by phone and mail, taking appropriate action to correct the delinquency or negative balance. You will also analyze the financial condition of delinquent borrowers, making recommendations for extension agreements, payment modifications, and workout loans when applicable. Additionally, you will assist members and credit union employees with their telephone requests, answer questions about delinquent accounts, and refer problems beyond your authority to your supervisor. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that accurate and complete records are maintained and required reports are prepared on all collection activity. You will also inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans. Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
- Excellent communication skills and versatility in collection techniques.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
