Position: Category Analyst

Location: Franklin, TN

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (50% on-site)

The Category Analyst role is pivotal in driving excellence in Category Leadership throughout the organization. This position requires close collaboration with the Sales Strategy, brand, and OneInsights teams to ensure alignment with customer priorities. Acting as a vital link between field category management and sales, the Category Analyst will provide strategic insights and effective business solutions for both the category and Mars. This role is part of a specialized team dedicated to transforming shopper and market insights into actionable strategies that align with organizational goals to enhance category and Mars growth.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in CPG sales, category leadership, analytics, or consumer and shopper insights.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Category Leadership with a solid understanding of the category management process.
  • Prior experience in data analytics.
  • Proven ability to convert insights into actionable strategies and effectively address business challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Nielsen, IRI, or similar data sources is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous sales experience.
  • Familiarity with JDA Planogram software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Panel and Scan Syndicated Data (IRI or Nielsen).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Category Leadership center of excellence in delivering solutions that empower field sales to provide strategic insights to key customers.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Category Insights Manager to create aligned annual category growth solution toolkits for field sales deployment.
  • Support the Senior Category Insights Manager in developing comprehensive Department, Species, and Category narratives for field sales as part of sales toolkits.
  • Generate and present timely reports to evaluate category performance and insights.
  • Utilize relevant secondary research and data sources to identify and quantify business opportunities.
  • Assist the Senior Category Insights Manager in delivering Perfect Store targets, scorecards, and audit results to enhance performance against objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of category management tools while serving as a consultant in the execution of these resources to ensure consistent excellence in category leadership.
  • Proactively engage with key cross-functional partners in field sales, sales strategy, insights, and brand to understand business priorities. Leverage shelf management software (JDA) and category expertise to provide research recommendations and a Picture of Success.
