Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Government Affairs Associate to join our team at Porzio Bromberg & Newman. As a key member of our governmental affairs team, you will provide strategic support in our Trenton, NJ office, assisting with lobbying and other governmental affairs efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor legislative committees and meetings of executive branch entities;
  • Draft documents related to these activities, including testimony, bill summaries, and analysis;
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders;
  • Support client meetings with directors and vice presidents.

Team Collaboration:

  • Provide scheduling support for legislative committee and session days;
  • Assist with the development of pitches and proposals for potential new clients;
  • Coordinate PGA staff and client attendance at political functions and fundraisers.

Public Relations and Advocacy:

  • Assist with the coordination of mission-based campaigns, including member outreach, subject matter education, and positive messaging;
  • Support the coordination of client events, such as fundraisers and special legislative days;
  • Contribute to traditional media services, including letters to the editor, op-eds, and editorial board meetings.

Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. in Law, Security Studies, Political Science, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of the NJ Statehouse;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills;
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under time pressures.
