The Medical Only Claims Specialist plays a crucial role in managing non-complex and non-problematic workers' compensation claims. This position requires close supervision and supports the goals of the claims department and CorVel Corporation.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and confirm claims, ensuring policy coverage and acknowledgement of the claim.
- Determine the validity and compensability of the claim, establishing reserves and authorizing payments within established limits.
- Communicate claim status with customers, claimants, and clients, adhering to client and carrier guidelines.
- Assist other claims professionals with complex or problematic claims as needed.
- Participate in claims review and complete additional projects and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year industry experience and claim handling, with WC experience required.
- Licensed as required by jurisdiction.
