About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Automation Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing SCADA systems, ensuring compliance with utility client standards, and supporting the testing and communication of the SCADA/EMS system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing SCADA maps and RTUs in compliance with utility client standards
  • Supporting the testing and communication of the SCADA/EMS system
  • Knowledge of electronic and automation functions, including digital protection
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 and communication protocols, especially DNP
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, manufacturers, and equipment
  • Knowledge of communications, including digital radio and fiber optics
  • Experience with electrical substation, substation equipment, and power grids
Requirements
  • An Engineering degree from a recognized institution
  • P.E. License not required, but preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in automation, digital, relay, or utility engineering
  • Knowledge of codes and standards, including IEEE and ANSI, as well as OH&S Regulations, NERC, and FERC regulations
