About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at The D.S. Brown Company. As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services, particularly in the area of welding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on incoming materials and fabricated products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Conduct weld fit-up and inspection in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Inspect coatings, such as galvanizing and paint, to ensure they meet our quality requirements.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and obtain certification in various methods.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including State DOT and third-party inspectors.
  • Handle materials and coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Understand and implement internal and external project sampling and testing protocols.
  • Coordinate with production and suppliers on nonconforming materials.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to enhance teamwork and overall results.
  • Execute administrative duties in a timely and effective manner.
  • Issue reports on a timely basis.
  • Communicate all non-conformances to the Quality Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Able to read and understand all basic DSB drawings.
  • Able to communicate effectively with DSB staff, outside inspectors, and DOT representatives about issues regarding product testing and inspection.
  • Able to enter data associated with all product testing/inspection.
  • Hold and maintain current AWS Certified Welding Inspector Certificate.
Education and Experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below:
  • Degree: Associates Degree (preferred)
  • Major: Quality/Manufacturing Processes
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5
  • Area: Quality / Welding
