About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Production Supervisor to join our team at Gibraltar Industries. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Finishing Department to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Finishing Department to ensure timely completion of orders and optimal performance.
  • Establish production targets and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of orders for the Finishing Department and other night shift departments.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Requisition material required to meet production goals.
  • Review specifications, blueprints, and work orders to communicate requirements and assign duties to employees.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet specification requirements and are within tolerance specifications.
  • Ensure failed products are repaired to meet specifications and consistently work to minimize rework.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods with consideration to Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems for all areas of the facility on night shift.
  • Assist with hiring, training, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
  • Primary contact on night shift regarding disciplinary issues and plant emergencies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5 or more years of managerial/supervisory roles.
  • Manufacturing background.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in industrial coatings application, blueprint interpretation, steel fabrication/welding, machining, and rubber molding processes.
  • Physical demands such as sitting, walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (50 lbs.) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.
  • Ability to foster teamwork, manage performance, build collaborative relationships, possess customer orientation, implement result orientation, sustain personal credibility, and maintain initiative.
