Position Overview:
The Chief Sales and Marketing Officer is tasked with crafting a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy that drives the organization towards enhanced market presence and improved brand visibility. This pivotal role offers strategic guidance and leadership to the Marketing Division, Business Development Division, and provides overarching direction to the Sales Team. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in delivering valuable insights into the sales and marketing operations to the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Offer strategic guidance to the sales force, establishing targets, objectives, and tactics to meet revenue goals.
  • Develop, lead, and oversee the Sales Training Division and its initiatives.
  • Ensure uniformity across the entire Sales process.
  • Assist Branch Managers in formulating annual sales budgets and forecasts.
  • Create sales strategies, pinpoint market opportunities, and align sales tactics with the broader business goals.
  • Engage in monthly and quarterly operational discussions to ensure action plans, financial performance, and organizational objectives are met or surpassed.
  • Evaluate and track sales performance against targets to guarantee growth.
  • Review and refine all sales compensation structures and incentive programs.
  • Support the recruitment of Sales Representatives throughout the organization.
  • Successfully lead the annual sales conference, ensuring it is informative, relevant, enjoyable, and reflects the company’s core values.
  • Provide strategic oversight for the Business Development team.

Marketing Leadership:

  • Collaborate with various teams to synchronize marketing efforts with business objectives and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Lead the marketing team, nurturing a culture of innovation, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s markets, competitors, sales cycles, and customer behaviors.
  • Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
  • Supervise the formulation of all market strategies, plans, programs, and functions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor actions, and market developments to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement a marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the business plan and growth objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role oversees the Sales Training Division, Marketing Manager, Business Development Team, and may supervise select Branch Managers. This position also provides mentorship to the Sales Team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing.
  • Experience in the rental, construction, or Modular Building Industry is essential.
  • A strategic leader capable of building, managing, and inspiring teams.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial practices, including expenditure monitoring, ROI assessments, P&L projections, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, PPC, website management, and marketing analytics tools.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze sales data, research, and other information to formulate and execute marketing and sales strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Well-informed about current sales and marketing trends to ensure the company’s strategies remain competitive.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with a diverse range of employees, customers, industry professionals, and business partners across various settings.

Physical and Mental Demands:
This position necessitates a considerable amount of travel within the United States.
