Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) - Referral Management Job Summary:
Epic Government is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our Referral Management team. As a Referral Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth referral process for patients receiving specialty care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with specialty referral clinics to ensure timely and accurate referrals
- Review initial specialty care and deferred referrals for administrative completeness
- Submit referrals to the appropriate reviewer for medical necessity and appropriateness review
- Track referrals and obtain reports from MTF, ODCS, network, and non-network providers
- Provide patient education and support to prepare patients for specialty care appointments and procedures
Requirements:
- Full-time employment in nursing for the last 12 months
- Knowledge of medical care criteria, such as InterQual or Milliman Ambulatory Care Guidelines
- Operational computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing and Microsoft applications
- General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written/verbal/electronic communication, and customer service skills
