Job Summary:The Director of Nursing is responsible for leading the nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care in the facility. This role assumes responsibility as Department Manager of OR/PACU/PAT/PREOP Departments and oversees the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program. As a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care in the facility.
- Assume responsibility as Department Manager of OR/PACU/PAT/PREOP Departments.
- Oversee the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program.
- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care from admission to discharge.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Lead ongoing clinical skills improvement training and initiatives.
- Responsible for infection control, standard precautions, and universal precautions for the center.
- Monitor the documentation of nursing care and physicians' orders according to facility policy and best practice guidelines.
- Responsible for the coordination, staffing ratios, and scheduling of the nursing care provided in the facility.
- Assign patient care responsibilities based on patient needs, abilities of staff, and facility policy.
- Supervise center personnel to assure maximum productivity and quality of patient care.
- Responsible for direction, teaching, and managerial growth of other clinical leaders.
- Responsible for interpretation, in-service education, implementation, and compliance with OSHA guidelines to assure minimal exposure for patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a healthcare setting.
- Proven track record of improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
The Director of Nursing will work in a professional, clinical office environment with occasional exposure to outdoor climate. The role requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching, and periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Physical Demands:- Requires normal (corrected) vision and hearing.
- Requires coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office and clinical equipment.
