NURSE SUPERVISOR
FULL TIME - EXEMPT
General Summary: To provide the overall administrative and clinical leadership and direction for nursing services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages the day to day operation of Thrive Behavioral Health Nursing operations.
- Recommends, and/or revises policies and procedures related to all nursing activities that promote coordination of care, wellness and positive health outcomes for consumers; data collection
- Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing activities;
- Evaluates in partnership with the program managers, the performance of nursing staff and interprets nursing standards to staff;
- Serve as liaison between staff and administrative personnel, the community and the physicians;
- Provides orientation, teaching and guidance to nursing staff to improve the quality and quantity of service;
- Assists in providing and/or coordinating educational programs for the nursing/medical staff, other staff, and community;
- Provides RN assessments for Thrive programs and refer to appropriate treatment services;
- Monitors medications and administers injections as needed for coverage;
- Coordinates the proper disposal of medical waste;
- Coordinates in cooperation with the medical director, the purchase, storage, organization and disposal of medications;
- Participates with senior management in program development, planning and growth;
- Collaborates with other providers, agencies and individuals in the clients' network of care;
- Ensures that nursing staff's recovery planning and clinical record keeping is consistent with standards established by Thrive;
- Provides individual and group supervision to nursing staff;
- Maintains proper supervision notes on staff;
- Assist in the recruiting, interviewing, screening, selecting, and orienting nursing staff in conjunction with program manager;
- Participates in developing health outcome metrics;
- Plays a lead role in developing health promotion and wellness programming for Thrive consumers;
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Committee and Safety Committee. Participate in other committees as needed;
- Develops and monitors workflows and policies that support the integration of behavioral health and primary care.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
- Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Qualifications
Education, Experience and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree in Nursing. Minimum of 3 years Human Service experience field working with clients with disabilities preferred.
- 2 years supervisory/managerial experience required.
- Basic computer literacy skills are necessary
Certifications, Licenses Requirements:
- Rhode Island Registered Nurse license required.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
