Job Summary

Ortho Rhode Island is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care delivery in our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility as Department Manager of OR/PACU/PAT/PREOP Departments
  • Responsible for the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program
  • Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care from admission to discharge
  • Lead and attend clinical education, facility training, and development workshops
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual clinical competencies for all clinical staff
  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided
  • Maintain accurate records and oversee the purchase of medications for the facility
  • Monitor the documentation of nursing care and physicians' orders according to facility policy and best practice guidelines
  • Responsible for infection control, standard precautions, and universal precautions for the center
  • Lead ongoing clinical skills improvement training and initiatives
Requirements
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery nursing, at least two (2) to five (5) years of nursing and management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center
  • Current RI State Licensure
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS required
  • Certification/Eligibility to be certified in Infection Control
Work Environment

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday and may vary depending on location hours and company schedule.

Physical Demands
  • Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching, and periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office and clinical equipment
  • Requires normal (corrected) vision and hearing
