Job Title: Optical Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Consultant to join our team at EssilorLuxottica. As an Optical Consultant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient experiences through the selection of eyewear, accurate measurements, ordering, and fitting of eyewear to meet all of our patients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing a voice for peers.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, thoroughly, and exactly in details; ensure finished eyewear meets standards and patient requirements.
  • Explore the needs and priorities of patients by asking open-ended questions.
  • Assist peers with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
  • Utilize practice tools and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons for patient issues, strive to develop long-term solutions to problems, and ensure patients are satisfied and expectations are exceeded.
  • Act quickly for resolution, partner with management as necessary.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
  • Commit to delivery date and time, seek feedback, and ask for referrals.
  • Strive to achieve exceptional results on KPIs and competencies.
  • Present, celebrate, and educate at time of dispense.
  • Take pride in practice appearance, show initiative to keep clean, attractive, and organized. Secure and protect company assets within control.
  • Inform management of safety opportunities; demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Possess a 'can do' spirit and strong drive for results, self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
  • Work weekends and evenings in support of business needs (varies by location).
  • Adhere to attendance and daily time-keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Sell on your feet 80-100% of the time.
  • Consistently maintain proper dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or as business needs.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic optics and dispensing/fitting eyewear.
  • Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Sales skills - ability to use and carry a tablet.
  • Familiarity with technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, or other software applications.
  • Embraces new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous eye care and/or customer service experience.
  • ABO certification preferred.
