Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Plastic Surgeon to join our team at the Department of Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University/VCU Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor residents in all areas of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with direct oversight to the resident clinics at the VCU Medical Center.
  • Establish clinical research projects with medical students and residents to develop evidence-based practice outcomes in pediatric plastic surgery, general plastic surgery, and surgical education.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital committees as assigned and engage with regional and national professional organizations.
  • Develop an active surgical practice in pediatric and adult craniofacial surgery, including wound care, soft tissue reconstruction, and cleft/craniofacial surgery.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
  • Fellowship training in pediatric plastic surgery with expertise in craniofacial surgery.
  • Experience in building and leading a service line in pediatric plastic surgery, including wound care, soft tissue reconstruction, and cleft/craniofacial surgery.
  • Commitment to resident education and teaching.
  • Commitment to clinical research and innovation.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
