Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) plays a pivotal role in managing the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, ensuring safety for residential areas, educational institutions, recreational spaces, and childcare facilities.

DTSC collaborates closely with local communities and oversees contractors tasked with conducting environmental sampling, remediation, and project closure. The contract management division is essential in evaluating contract frameworks, risk evaluations, and financial reporting from contractors, including invoice assessments and documentation verification.

As an Associate Governmental Program Analyst, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Administer a variety of contracts, work orders, and related documents for site assessments and remediation projects independently.
  • Evaluate contractor invoices to confirm adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Act as a liaison between departmental staff and the Contracts/Business Management Unit, facilitating financial oversight of Budget Change Proposals and other funding sources.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis, providing management and staff with clear, accurate, and actionable information to support DTSC's critical objectives.
  • Address various assignments as directed by management, including preparing visual data representations and summarizing findings in reports or memos using internal data systems.

  • Strong ability to work autonomously.
