Job Summary

Penn Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical research. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in the Orthopedic Department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine care and prevention of athletic injuries in a clinical setting.
  • Administer prescribed medications, give injections, and vaccines, and perform electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests.
  • Obtain and test specimens, document results, and take appropriate action with unexpected results.
  • Assist physicians with surgical procedures, including positioning patients, maintaining a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
  • Prepare paperwork to complete patient visits and obtain and document patient vital signs as needed.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and check equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Maintain medication storage closets and participate in orienting new team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a CAATE-accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in athletic training or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in athletic training or a related field preferred.
  • Licensed in the State of Pennsylvania and certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC).
  • Board of Certification (BOC) certified and BLS/CPR certified as a healthcare provider.
