Job Overview

Onsite Requirement: This position is designated as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to be present at the designated facility on a full-time basis.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Specialist will operate independently while receiving occasional guidance from management. This role involves contributing to the advancement of manufacturing techniques, equipment/tooling options, and the organization of workflows to optimize the use of personnel, materials, machinery, and facilities essential for part production. The work environment is centered around manufacturing engineering or assembly operations, where innovation and initiative are crucial. The selected candidate must be prepared to work various shifts, including potential rotating shifts and weekend overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously refine and enhance manufacturing processes to achieve optimization within the supported department or area.
  • Assist in the design, construction, integration, installation, and ongoing enhancement of equipment and tools necessary for production.
  • Analyze data to identify root causes of issues affecting manufacturing performance and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members to innovate and test advanced process technologies.
  • Engage with production and maintenance personnel, plant leadership, and external stakeholders to address issues, implement improvements, and communicate progress.
  • Implement and understand PFMEA, Process Control Plans, technical equipment bulletins, manufacturing processes, and management systems relevant to production operations.
  • Aid in the rollout of Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) and Business Plan Deployment (BPD) initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings, with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes.
  • Flexibility to work any shift in a three-shift plant environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the Automotive Manufacturing sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with operational excellence methodologies and/or Six Sigma.
  • Prior experience in a production or operations team setting.
