Job Title: Sous Chef

At Hawkers Asian Street Food, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing shift operations, managing food quality, and ensuring the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation, including inventory management, storage, and rotation.
  • Ensure that food quality standards are maintained at all times, and provide feedback to the kitchen team on food presentation and execution.
  • Conduct daily pre-service meetings to review menu items, discuss kitchen operations, and address any concerns.
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef as needed, and provide leadership and guidance to the kitchen team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, and ensure that all equipment and storage areas are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to meet or exceed sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Proven track record of maintaining high food quality standards and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team of up to 30 staff members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
