Job Summary

The Sous Chef is a key member of the culinary team at The Joseph, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Nashville. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation, presentation, and service in the hotel's kitchen. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and implement menus, manage food costs, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

* Assist the Executive Chef in planning and preparing menus for the hotel's restaurants and banquets
* Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
* Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes
* Ensure that all food products meet the hotel's quality standards

Requirements

* 4+ years of experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel or restaurant
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, health and safety regulations, and food safety protocols
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
* High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
